SingleMom
Motivated Optimistic Mentor 501c3 non profit organization

My Story
I am a Philadelphia, Pa native, a Delaware State University alumna,
a proud member of the
Distinguished Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated
and most importantly I am a mother!
In 2007 I was a college graduate pursuing my Master’s degree when I found out that
I was expecting my first child. Excited at the possibility of bringing a life into the world with
someone I was in a long term relationship with was an idea that I welcomed with open arms. Nevertheless, after giving birth to the most precious little boy a mother could ask for
I found myself raising him independently with his father being inconsistent, which turned into being absent. This new transition in my life brought me many emotions but never affected the way that I loved and cared for my son.
He became the main focus of my entire life and everyday I worked to insure that he would live the best possible life. After having to work 2 jobs for 6 1/2 years I began to realize I was not the only person experiencing this situation and started to ease up on myself.
I had become my worst critic and wanted different for my son than what I had witnessed growing up.
In 2016 I became aware of my passion and as a result SingleMom was established.
